Thamesides 1 & 2

Two of the finest races in the world. These little gems are always a pleasure, the first enjoying the scenic surround of the Kennet and Avon canal as it winds its merry way from the small village of Aldermaston to the Thames at Reading, where a short spell upstream takes one swiftly to the finish at our fine canoe club. The second a feast of Thames paddling starting this time at the club in Reading a quickly shifting on downstream (all the way) to Marlow, dodging a couple of weirs on the way. These form crucial training for those preparing their bodies and minds for the Devizes to Westminster race. They also tend to attract many other marathon paddlers after a bit of early racing, just to get back into the racing frame of mind.

Reading Circuit Race

Our Hasler race 4, 8 or 12 mile divisional circuit race on the Thames at Reading. Always sunny and warm, this race is a very popular early season race. The best will be there and the competition strong.
