Reading canoe club welcomes slalom paddlers from novice to the very highest standard
Novice and Junior Paddlers
Youth/novice slalom paddlers meet every Wednesday evening at the clubhouse in a safe and friendly environment under the watchful eye of our experienced coaches.
Time: 6:00pm – 7:00pm
The canoe club site includes flat-water gates where training and instruction is provided by our experienced coaches in slalom technique.
We have a number of junior paddler and are always keen to see new faces who may want to have a go.
For river safety reasons, these sessions generally run throughout British Summer Time.
Changing facilities are provided within the clubhouse and access to all equipment necessary for those starting out.
Intermediate and Experienced Paddlers
Experienced paddlers meet following the Novice session (often helping out with junior paddlers).
Time: 7:00pm – 8:00pm
Our more able paddlers work with experienced coaches to improve their technique and stamina to apply their skills at competition level throughout the year.
Other sessions may be arranged depending on demand.
For more information email for further information or come along on Wednesday evenings to find out more.
