Pangbourne heralds the start of the new hasler season and it was held in perfect conditions – bathed in sunshine and minimal wind. Reading put out an impressive team of 34 paddlers and were delighted to come away with the highest Club points. Well done Reading and all those who took part!
There were some impressive podium finishes too:
3rd Div 3 K2 Kat & Nigel
3rd Div 4 K2 Duncan & Peter
1st and 2nd Div 7 K2 Thomas & Joe, Erika & Michelle
Club colours should be worn by competitors in races, including sprint regattas, Hasler races, national championships, and are encouraged for other races. Clubs may receive a penalty if a competitor does not wear the right club colours.
If you need any racing vests, please speak to Erika.
The Banbury Hasler race is being held on 25th October 2015, the day after Reading Canoe Club’s AGM. Sign up sheets for the Banbury race are up on the board. This is the last chance for a Hasler race before the winter. It’s a very different bit of water to most of the other races in our region so a great chance to experience a slightly different event. Please sign up on the board at the club.
The Henley Hasler race is being held on Sunday 11th October. It is a Southern Region Hasler event, so lets have another good turn out from Reading. Entry is team leader only, no late entry for divisions 4-9.
Embridge is within the South East region, so no Hasler points will be awarding for Reading. However, it is just over an hours drive from Reading and would make a great training race for all those that don’t want a weekend off. (Perhaps we have some people looking to do their first K1 race in division 5?) Entry is team leader only.
